One city, several kinds of kitchen
Kearney is the seat of Buffalo County and had 33,790 people at the 2020 census, which makes it Nebraska's fifth largest city. It sits along Interstate 80 and the Union Pacific main line, about a mile north of the Platte River. The city was incorporated in 1873, after the Burlington and Union Pacific lines met here, and grew fast through the 1880s. That history is why a single drive across town can pass an 1890s house, a 1975 ranch and a 2015 two-story.
Those houses need different kitchens. Older central homes bring closed rooms and aging systems. The large group of houses from the 1970s through the 1990s has workable layouts and dated finishes.
